Working with market leading sustainable housing developer GS8, match landscape architects and team have conceptualised and developed a proposal for a forward thinking people and climate first 100+ home masterplan in Epping Forest.
The development comprises a network of streets and spaces underpinned by an interconnected green infrastructure arranged to reflect the character of local field pattern boundaries.
Verdant streets connect homes with open spaces, either visually with views over countryside, or physically by creating positive links to new and existing amenity spaces.
The proposals link the Thornwood Common with the pond and garden at the site’s north east through a series of streets and lanes.
The landscape is designed to be social and playful and will include native planting with opportunities for fruit picking and foraging.
Streets are finished in reclaimed or recycled materials, with geometries that encourage children to play and residents to adopt the space, with vehicles permitted the minimum space to facilitate access.
